I'm just a small business owner, do I really need a website?

Absolutely! A small business website has become a standard marketing avenue as more and more people start looking for products and services online first. If you don't have a website, you can't compete and if you have a bad site, you may be driving customers away. For more details, see our Business Website Benefits page. I notice you no longer offer custom website development. Why is that?

In 2007 we made the decision to offer website templates and to stop developing custom solutions. Website templates have come a long way in the last decade and have evolved into stylish and high quality websites that in our opinion, are even better than a custom site.

Templates are fast and significantly cheaper than a custom site. And since they're developed by professional web and graphic designers we could no longer ignore the fact that they're a great option.

I'm leary about purchasing a template because others would have the same site as mine. Is this something I should be concerned with?

No. Indeed others may have downloaded the same original template but with billions of web pages on the Internet have you ever seen two websites exactly the same? Once you add your own logo, text, images, links, or other content, your site becomes unique. If you are worried you can buy a template for the unique price meaning it will be removed from the site immediately and never sold again or check out our Never Downloaded templates or the Brand New templates that were just added.

Are web templates customizable?

Yes! When you purchase a template you'll get all source files that were used to make the template such as HTML, Flash, Photoshop, Fireworks, .jpg, .gif, etc. You can change anything you want including colours, placements, logos, links, images, headers, and page text. By doing so, you can see how you can get a unique website for your business at a fraction of the cost of a custom site. What is the Unique Price for each template?

You have the option of purchasing any website template for a unique price. When you do so, the template will be permanently removed from our website and will never be sold to anyone else. If you purchased a new template that was just made available for the unique price, you would be getting a custom site that nobody else had or ever will download!

How should I choose a domain name for my website?

If you were typing in the domain name for your company or topic, what would you instinctively type in? Either get the name of your business in it or a keyword that is relevant. Acronyms are usually poor choices unless it has its own meaning or is recognizable. For example, if your business is called Rainbow Flower Shop, www.RFS.com is a poor choice because it makes no sense if you look at the domain alone. Contrary, www.UPS.com is a good choice for the United Parcel Service because most people know the acronym!

How do I access my cPanel Control Panel?

You have a couple of options for accessing your cPanel. You can either visit our login page or you can type your domain name followed by /cpanel. For example, you would go to http://www.yoursite.com/cpanel (use your own domain name not 'yoursite').

Do you sell domain names?

At this time we do not sell domain names. For a '.com' name we recommend Misk.com and for '.ca' domain names we recommend DomainsAtCost.ca.

How do I access my webmail?

You can either visit our login page or you can type your domain name followed by /webmail. For example, you would go to http://www.yoursite.com/webmail (use your own domain name not 'yoursite'). Remember that your email account name is the full email address.

I use POP3 to access my email but the server seems to store my messages and fill up my box even though I download them to my machine. Any advice?

Thunderbird, Outlook, and Outlook Express have a default setting that leaves a copy of your message on the server. It can be set to leave a copy for a certain period of time or indefinitely. Most people who use POP3 don't realize this because they usually don't use webmail as well. Log in to your webmail and clear out any emails you don't need. Then make sure to uncheck the option of leaving a copy on the server.

Are your web stats the same as a counter?

The web stats that come with each of our web hosting plans are much more than just a counter which only records page reloads. From your cPanel admin page you will be able to choose from multiple web statistic programs consisting of a wide range of graphical and detailed stats. For example your hosting plan will automatically monitor unique visits, bandwidth, browser, IP address, geographic location, entry/exit pages, search terms, time of day, length of stay, and much more!

Do you have a shared SSL certificate?

Our servers do indeed have a shared SSL certificate that our clients are free to use to secure their pages with 128 bit SSL encryption. This certificate is signed for our server and so any page you want to use SSL on (https), you must use the server domain name instead of your own.

For example, if your domain name is mydomainname.com and your account name for your hosting package is mydomai you would enable SSL by directing users to https://saturn.websitewelcome.com/~mydomai. If you directed users to your own domain name (https://www.mydomainname.com) users would receive a warning that the certificate doesn't match.

If you obtain your own digital certificate for your domain name, your users would not get the warning.

Which e-commerce shopping cart systems are compatible with your online store templates?

Our Online Store Templates are compatible with the world's most popular free shopping cart software including osCommerce, CRELoaded, and Zen Cart. A template converts your store from a generic looking one to a professional solution that displays your products in a way that will increase sales and make them stand out from the crowd!

Do I have to have a merchant account?

If you want to accept credit cards online and have the money deposited directly into your account then yes, you must have a merchant account. You can accept Paypal, Google Checkout, or cheque at your e-commerce without a merchant account because you will have to actually do the depositing to your account.

Is it true that if I open an eStore and sell my products online, I'll be rich in no time?

Although this is a common belief and advertised as a quick fix on many late night infomercials, it is completely false. We're not saying that you can't make lots of money online, you can, but it takes effort, time, and investment. You must actively market your store to your target customers and provide innovative ways to keep them coming back for more.

Is Kirsir an Internet Service Provider?

No. An Internet Service Provider (ISP) provides a connection to the Internet. Kirsir provides web services for those already connected to the Internet. The three most common connections are dial-up, DSL, and cable. If you require an ISP, see Autobahn Access (Dial-Up), MTS (DSL), or Shaw (Cable).

How do I know if Kirsir products are right for me?

If you are a small business owner, entrepreneur, non-profit organization, a person with a hobby or special interest, or an Affiliate Marketer, you would benefit from a high quality and cheap website template that can go online in less than an hour. How do you bill your clients and what forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards for template purchases and web hosting. We use PayPal as our payment processor of monthly fees for web hosting but you do not have to have a PayPal account (although it speeds checkout). Any other work is invoiced and can be paid by cheque.
